Testimonials

“As a young adult, my son is interested in spending time with peers but struggles to establish and maintain friendships and positive influences. In speaking with Diana about the Community Colleagues program for young adults, I felt hopeful this program could help my son not only build skills in developing relationships but also offer some life skills like navigating transportation, budgeting, communications, etc. After collecting some background about my son, Diana shared several profiles of potential ‘colleagues’ for him to meet. I selected one that seemed to be a good match with my son in terms of interests and life experience (though honestly they all sounded great). After speaking with my son and the colleague and agreeing on expectations (schedule, budget, etc.), the two of them did the rest – they set up a first meeting and now have a weekly schedule to hang out and ‘do stuff’ which includes going to movies, dinner in the city, bowling, etc. My son looks forward to hanging out with his colleague every week, and I am beyond grateful for Diana who made this possible through her network and commitment to helping young adults develop life skills and positive relationships.

“We will be sending our son off to college with an extra layer of confidence knowing he has a peer-mentor on campus who was carefully identified for him and on whom he can rely for basic questions and support. Diana Jones and Campus Colleagues took the time to really get to know us and our son and to truly understand our needs and desires. They then presented us with great candidates from whom to interview and choose.

My son has been excited about going off to college for years. Now, with the support of his Campus Colleague we are confident that his experience will be an even more positive one.”

“As a consultant and educator, it is clear that Diana's goal is to help her students not only find and achieve acceptance to right-fit colleges aligned with their needs but also to help arm them with the tools they will require to be successful once they get there. I have witnessed this process firsthand with my own daughter, as Diana adjusts her pace, expectations, and assignments to match the complexion of my daughter while Diana works through the college admission process with her.

Campus Colleagues is just an evolution and extension of Diana's desire for her students to succeed. Applying her years of insight, skill and experience, she helps identify a specific brand of support for students who may need just a little more as they transition to college life. By pairing them with knowledgeable peers, these students can adapt at their pace, ask the questions they need to ask, and rely on the help they want without being unsure or self-conscious; a valuable asset indeed.”

“As educators who work with young adults, our focus is often on the high school years and helping students prepare and be admitted to college.  However, many students continue to need mentoring support once they arrive on their college campus to ensure that they continue to reach their full potential and thrive both academically and socially during the college years.  The college years are not simply about what school you attended or what your major was, but more importantly, what did you learn and what were you able to accomplish during this time.  What goals were you aiming for and how were you able to attain them?  These successes both in and out of the classroom are what set college students up for success later in life.

Diana’s vast experience working with young adults makes her uniquely qualified to support them through this journey.  Her ability to relate to students and help guide them is truly second to none.  Having a strong support network early-on during the college years can help prevent students from feeling isolated and overwhelmed and get them excited about all of the different opportunities that college will offer them. Students could not ask for better support than Diana and her team at Campus Colleagues and their service fills a unique and valuable niche in college student support.”
